The Middle Kingdom, commonly known as China, is an ancient country full of mystery and troubles.
With a recorded history reaching back practically to the Big Bang, China has had plenty of time to perfect its pantheons. Godchecker™ stated that over the aeons, religion has absorbed many sophisticated ideas - the common sense of Confucius (Kongzi), the ritual and magic of Taoism and the sublime spirituality of Buddhism - to produce a stir-fry mix of Gods for all occasions.
According to Godchecker™(2013) , Chinese mythology is humorous and enjoyable. For every being in Heaven there's a mocking fable or unexpected joke. Most Chinese Gods and Goddesses are deified humans - which means they're as likely to make mistakes as we are. But rather than airbrush out the embarrassments, Chinese history revels them. We suspect that even the JADE-EMPEROR (see figure 9.1) who is the stern-faced Ruler of Heaven, sometimes has hard time keeping a straight face.
