In 1974 the Terracotta Army was discovered by workers that were digging a well. After coming across one terracotta soldier they alerted the authorities. In less than a month over 600 archaeologists’ came to the site to unraveled over a thousand terracotta worriers. These worriers were lined up by rank. These soldiers are meant to be a relic of Qin’s army.
Gotthelf, B (n.d.) stated that Qin’s tomb was bobby trapped with crossbows. Gold and pearls were chiseled out of Qin’s tomb. The Emperor's tomb was also protected with flowing rivers of mercury.
After years of working, humans found that the Terracotta army was built over 2200 years ago. It is astonishing to think that at one point the terracotta figures were covered in colourful garments. This was found out by hints of paint on the terracotta warriors.
Not only did Emperor Qin build the terracotta army but he also built the Great Wall of China. He built the Terracotta army because he wanted an army to protect his tomb. Not only did he build the Terracotta army for that reason as he also desired a relic of his army , not unlike the Egyptians; he wanted a token to bring with him in the 'after life'.
